Arrange colored jump pads on the floor, spaced 2-4 inches apart.
Prepare Colored Sequence Cards to show the order of jumps.
Choose a safe, open area with enough space for the activity.
2. Activity Steps:
Part 1: Introduce the Sequence
– The Helper uses a Placement Card to model the arrangement of the colored pads.
– Show the Participant 2 Colored Sequence Cards to demonstrate the order of the jumps.
– Use verbal and visual cues (e.g., “First red, then blue”) to guide the Participant.
Part 2: Jump and Match
– The Participant jumps on the pads in the color sequence shown on the cards.
– Start with forward jumps, then introduce backward and diagonal movements.
– Repeat the sequence 5 times to reinforce learning and coordination.
Part 3: Increase Difficulty
– Once the Participant masters a 2-color sequence, introduce a 3-color sequence.
– Gradually progress to 4-color sequences as their skill improves.
– Ensure mastery by having the Participant complete the sequence 5 times at 100% accuracy before advancing.
3. Repetitions:
Perform 5 repetitions of each level (2-color, 3-color, 4-color).
Adjust the number of sequences based on the Participant’s ability and interest.
Tips for Success:
Use gestures and verbal prompts to encourage the Participant to follow the sequence.
Offer positive reinforcement for successful attempts.
Adjust the spacing between pads if needed to match the Participant’s jumping ability.
