Provide the Participant with 2-3 bean bags of different colors and a round plastic container.
Choose a safe, open space for the activity.
2. Activity Steps:
Part 1: Toss and Catch
– The Participant holds the container in their dominant hand.
– Using the opposite hand, the Participant tosses a bean bag into the air and attempts to catch it in the container.
– Repeat this sequence 5 times with the same hand.
Part 2: Switch Hands
– The Participant switches the container to their non-dominant hand.
– Repeat the toss and catch sequence 5 times.
Part 3: Alternate Hands
– The Participant alternates hands for each toss and catch, switching the container between hands.
– Perform this alternating sequence for 2 rounds on each side.
3. Repetitions:
Start with 5 tosses per hand and gradually increase to 10 tosses as the Participant’s skill improves.
Tips for Success:
Begin with low tosses to build confidence, then increase the height of the tosses as the Participant gains accuracy.
Use verbal encouragement to keep the Participant engaged and motivated.
Add a color-recognition challenge by calling out the color of the bean bag to be tossed (e.g., “Catch the blue one!”).
