Yoga Moves

How to Do:

1. Setup:

  • Lay out two yoga mats, one for the child and one for the helper (caregiver).
  • Choose a relaxing playlist with nature sounds or sleep-time music to create a calming atmosphere.

2. Yoga Pose Selection:

  • Have the child and helper pick a yoga card from the deck.
  • Each card will show a different yoga pose, such as tree pose, downward dog, or butterfly.

3. Practice the Poses:

  • Demonstrate the first yoga pose for the child and encourage them to copy your movements.
  • Hold each pose for 10-15 seconds, focusing on breathing deeply and maintaining balance.
  • Complete 10-20 yoga poses, depending on the child’s comfort level and focus.

4. Relaxation:

  • After completing a set of poses, take a few moments to relax and breathe deeply.
  • Encourage the child to focus on how their body feels and the calmness they experience after the poses.

Tips for Success:

  • Start with simple poses and gradually increase difficulty as the child becomes more comfortable.
  • Ensure the child’s movements are slow and mindful to enhance relaxation and focus.
  • Offer praise and encouragement for their efforts and creativity during the practice.
