3. Activity Steps:
Step 1: Single Color Match
– The Helper tosses one balloon into the air in front of the Participant.
– Hold up a color card that matches the balloon and encourage the Participant to tap or bat the balloon with their hand.
– Repeat for 5-10 tosses with each balloon color.
Step 2: Two Colors
– Introduce a second balloon of a different color.
– Hold up one color card at a time, and the Participant taps the balloon matching the card.
– Repeat for 5-10 tosses, alternating between the two colors.
Step 3: Multi-Color Challenge
– Introduce 3-4 balloons of different colors.
– The Helper holds up a color card, and the Participant taps the balloon that matches the card.
– Increase the difficulty by holding up 2 color cards at once or switching cards quickly.
– Repeat for 5-10 tosses.
4. Repetitions:
Perform each step for 5-10 tosses or adjust based on the Participant’s comfort and engagement.
Progress to more balloons and color cards as the Participant gains confidence.
Tips for Success:
Use encouraging phrases like “Great job finding the red balloon!” to motivate the Participant.
Adjust the speed and height of the balloon toss to suit the Participant’s ability.
If the Participant struggles with matching colors, start with fewer balloons and gradually increase the difficulty.
