Bouncing on Trampoline

How to Do:

Trampoline Activity

1. Setup:

  • Use a small indoor trampoline with a grab bar or hold the child’s hands for support.
  • For outdoor use, a larger trampoline may be utilized.

2. Movements:

  • Begin with simple movements:
    – Jumping up and down, landing on two feet (10 repetitions).
  • Introduce running or jumping in place with a “STOP” pattern:
    – Count to 10, then stop.
    – Repeat with different intervals (e.g., count to 10, stop; count to 5, stop).
  • Use random patterns to increase alertness and engagement.

Therapy Ball/Yoga Ball Activity

1. Setup:

  • Have the child sit on a large or medium therapy ball.
  • The helper sits in front of the child, stabilizing the ball for safety.

2. Movements:

  • Encourage the child to sit and bounce gently.
  • Follow the same “Bouncing/STOP/Bouncing” patterns used in the trampoline activity.
  • Introduce random stopping points to enhance alertness and focus.

Tips for Success:

  • Ensure the child feels safe and supported throughout the activity.
  • Use clear and enthusiastic cues to guide the movements.
  • Adjust the pace and difficulty based on the child’s comfort and ability.
